Dragon Rapide G-ALBC , Solair flying services, Kinder Scout, 30th December 1963,

 Second site visited on the weekend is the crash scene of Dragon Rapide G-ALBC belonging to Solair flying services which crashed on Kinder Scout on the 30th December 1963, the plane returning from a photographic survey over Middleton St George, Darlington diverted to Manchester to refuel on its way back to Birmingham but got caught by strong downdrafts over the hills and impacted the moors injuring both crew the plane was found by a helicopter and Mountain rescue brought the crew down for treatment

 At the site there is still one of the engine blocks and a small gathering of skinning and other remains near by is an area littered with small parts from the plane
